01-19  Why did Apple censor the iTunes version of the "Such Great Heights" video?
More details, including full history and links...

Below I've posted a side-by-side comparison of Apple's new 'Intel' ad with the "Such Great Heights" music video by The Postal Service. The similarities are undeniable. Don't take my word for it -- see for yourself.

The Video
The original, unedited Apple ad appears on the left side, while the corresponding clips from the music video appear on the right, as in the images at the bottom of this page.

All shots appear as they did in the original videos. I did NOT crop, rotate or alter them.

Of note: I think both Apple and The Postal Service (TPS) are amazing at what they each do, and they make a perfect fit for each other. However, it's become apparent that TPS did not have any input on the Apple ad, which means something here is not right. Whether anyone at Apple knew of the similarities to the existing music video is yet to be determined; at this point, the blame may lay completely in the hands of the directors, or it may turn out to have been another of Steve Jobs' clever marketing tactics. We'll have to wait and see...
